Health Care/Power of Attorney

Planning in Advance

Sometimes because of illness or injury, people are unable to  talk to a doctor or decide about treatment for themselves.   You may  wish to plan in advance to make sure your wishes are known.  If you do  not plan ahead, family members or other   people close to you may not be  allowed to make decisions for you and follow your wishes.  A form that  appoints someone you can trust is called a Health Care Proxy.

During one’s lifetime a person or persons can be appointed to act on your behalf by a Durable Power of Attorney form.

None of us want to think about these things but in this day and age, this is an absolute necessity.

Why Go to a Lawyer?

Why do I need an attorney instead of going “on line” and using the internet?

Would you expect to go to the hospital and perform your own  operation?  Of course not!  An attorney can advise you what is best for  your circumstances and will tailor the proper forms for your specific  needs.  Forms you may find online or in a stationary store may not be  valid.
